It's full of killer rabbits, silly songs and ridiculous puns, just like the original. Spamalot started off in the 2004-05 season on Broadway, and won three of the 14 Tony Award nominations awarded in its debut year. The awards were for Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical, and Best Featured Actress in a Musical. The show has been setting records ever since, such as the "World's Largest Coconut Orchestra" award in the Guinness Book of World Records in March of 2006.

Celebrating their one-year anniversary, the cast staged an outdoor performance for fans and players alike, with halved-coconuts to knock along to their signature song, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life." About 1,199 fans showed up to participate in the "orchestra," clicking away to imitate the way King Arthur and Patsy traverse the countryside in the movie. Without horses to ride, the two mimic that travel by making the sound of hooves with coconuts � which were carried to England most likely by an African Swallow. A European Swallow just doesn't have the wing-span.
