Mary Poppins opened in December 2004 to rave reviews in London's West End and in November 2006 Broadway finally got its hands on the musical. Playing at the New Amsterdam Theatre since, the play has been warmly received, and sales continue to rise. The musical combines the tales of the original book by author P.L. Travers and all the excitement of the 1964 Walt Disney film.

Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, known for producing other hits such as Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Les Miserables, this enchanting production has captured the hearts of audiences on both sides of the ocean. After 40 years of deliberation, the play exploded with new life as new music combined with songs from the film, some songs omitted and some remain as great as they were in the film.
